Basically, Palette Knife

My world of painting is broad and wide, just like the desert or the ocean. Not caring if I defy market wisdom of narrowing my focus to one subject, one style, one message, I simply paint what moves me in my spirit, listening instead to the different parts of my artistic soul.

Having been trained long ago to master many subjects in several mediums, I have found myself since then forever having a broad vision. My talents were developed classically as seen in my horse portraits; technically developed and skilled with the palette knife which I love, seen especially in my landscapes and flowers; and with the freedom of the wind, by expressionistically painting my delightful, playful sailboats.

I have many interests in my art, and to tame them into one voice is difficult at best. I guess you could say I am one artist with many artistic parts.  Yet I do have one voice - one part - that speaks loudly throughout all of my work.  It is the use of the palette knife in everything I paint. Some works are painted completely with the palette knife and some are painted partly with palette knife, partly with brush.

You could say then that “subject”, “style”, and “message” for me are simply that I paint with the palette knife creating a variety of works that are pleasing, unique and very satisfying to me as an artist with many parts to her artistic soul.
